To provide our service, we collect the following types of information:

Information You Provide Directly:

• Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. You may also voluntarily provide your age and biological sex to help us provide relevant drinking guidelines.
• Health & Activity Data: This is the core data you generate by using the app. It includes photos of your drinks, drink details (type, name, volume, ABV, calories), timestamps, notes, and your daily check-in status (e.g., "Dry Day" or "Drinking Day").
• Goals: We store your weekly drink goal to help you track your progress.

Information Collected Automatically:

• Device Information: We collect the push notification token for your device to send you relevant alerts, such as friend requests or reminders.

Information Shared Between Users:

• Social Information: If you use the "Friends" feature, we collect information about your connections, such as friend requests sent and received.

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• To Provide and Maintain the Service: To create your account, log your drinks, calculate your consumption statistics, and track your streaks and goals.
• To Analyze Drink Photos: We send the photos you upload to a third-party AI service (OpenRouter) to analyze the contents and estimate the drink's properties. We do not send any of your personal information (like your name or email) along with the image.
• To Enable Social Features: If you add friends, we share some of your activity data with them to foster accountability and support. See Section 3 for details.
• To Communicate With You: To send you push notifications about friend requests or other app-related activities.
• To Secure and Improve Our Service: To store your data, troubleshoot issues, and enhance the user experience.

Your privacy is paramount, and we limit data sharing to the following circumstances:

With Other Users (Friends Feature): The Friends feature is a core part of Quench AI. When you become friends with another user, you agree to share the following information with them:

• Your name and email.
• Your check-in history for the last 7 days (e.g., "Dry Day," "Drinking Day").
• Your progress towards your weekly goal.
• Your current streak.
• Your specific drink logs (photos, names, descriptions) are never shared with your friends.

With Service Providers: We use third-party vendors to help us operate our service. They are contractually obligated to protect your data and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

• AI Service Providers (e.g., OpenRouter): For analyzing drink images.
• Cloud Storage (Cloudflare R2): To securely store the photos you upload. Photos are stored with a unique, non-identifiable ID.
• Push Notification Services (Apple Push Notification Service): To deliver notifications to your device.

For Legal Reasons: We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to a valid legal request.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information. This includes:

• Using secure cloud infrastructure.
• Hashing your password.
• Using secure, industry-standard methods (Apple's Keychain) to store authentication tokens on your device.

You have control over your personal information.

• Access and Edit: You can access and edit your profile information and drink logs directly within the app.
• Deletion: You can delete your account at any time. Deleting your account will permanently remove all your associated data from our servers.

Quench AI is not intended for individuals under the legal drinking age (e.g., 21 in the United States). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by other means.
